The final level is also on par with the original's final level, and the final boss fight feels a lot cleaner than the original's. The new augmentations are really cool and much more balanced than the original's, especially the speech enhanced augment that makes the dialogue choices even cooler. Stealth and melee are a much more rewarding style of play which makes the game feel more dynamic and varied when you're sneaking up on enemies. However, the gameplay is a lot better than the original. There's a bunch of random houses and things to break into that don't really offer that much, while Deus Ex found a way to really link everything together in a meaningful way. The story, while great, is not as grand not sweeping as Deus Ex 1's. Visually, it doesn't look as cool, trading the blues and greys for a more orange colour palette. And this is just a reference but they had a log where Francis keeps getting rejected for his Solid Snake show and the company says that a cop show is better, I felt like they shouldn't talk a bad light about a game even if referencing lolġ8h 12m PlayedThis is a really fun game that lives in the shadow of the original Deus Ex. It just felt like it copied a lot from multiple games and mashed up into one. Plus Human Revolution has this weird copy from MGS even the tranq shot has the same animation when enemies are hit with it. Honestly, if I didn't compare, then the answer would still be the same. Also you can't kill a kid by smoking to death. I also didn't like that you have to use batteries for melee. Combat isn't anything to talk about, the music is very little when you travel around unlike the OG. The new one has this bland voice acting, very cookie-cutter characters, lifeless NPC. I like the original for it's unique character, bad voice acting, prophetic philosophy and comedic potential from the mechanics. I killed the first boss with 15 shots of tazers (he literally just standing there having a seizures for 2 minutes straight) I loved the original Deus Ex and comparing the two, the game made from 2000 was better, and I'm surprised. Short answer: Very bland, boring combat, cookie-cutter story. This game deserves the 10 I gave it because it delivered on the promise of giving me a new game in the series just as good as the original.8h 8m ProgressMaybe it was fun during 2013 but now it just seems like any other games. The action is unyielding and exciting, while the story is better then most movies. The reason I gave it one is because it does everything a game should, immerses you into a world and allows you to connect with the characters. You might ask if this game actually deserves a perfect score. If you are a fan of the original or FPS games in general, I *highly* recommend this game. The tiny details made me feel like I was not only killing and knocking out bad guys, but actually uncovering secrets I wasn't supposed to know. The cover system really enhanced the way I was able to go through levels. From the moment you begin playing HR you realize this REALLY is the new Deus Ex, not some cheap knock of made to make money. I feel like they captured the original perfectly. Now, 5 hours into the game I have been able to dig deep into the core and see what play "Human Revolution" is truly like, and it is good. Now, 5 hours into the game I have been able to dig deep When I began playing this game I had my doubts being such a big fan of the original.
